Practice group 3 Questions 13–18
Figure pair 3: Apply the same change to the second shape.

Answer: A. The first pair changes an outline shape to a filled shape, keeping its shape and size. Fill the second shape without changing its shape or size.
Shape group 3: Which choice has the same SHAPE as all three figures?
Show answer and explanation
Answer: B. Ignore size and shading. All three figures share the same shape; the matching answer has that shape too.
Working pairs 3: Match the object to what it is used with.
Show answer and explanation
Answer: D. A brush is used to apply paint; a watering can is used to water a flower.
Matrix 3: Each row keeps its shape but changes outline to filled. Fill the missing box.
Show answer and explanation
Answer: B. Read across each row: outline becomes filled, while shape and size stay the same. The bottom-right box must be the filled bottom-left shape.
Count matrix 3: Each row adds one matching shape. What belongs in the last box?
Show answer and explanation
Answer: C. In the top row, 3 becomes 4: add one. The bottom row must change 4 to 5, keeping the bottom-row shape.
Figure pattern 3: The shading repeats filled, outline. Which figure comes next?
Show answer and explanation
Answer: D. The shape and size stay the same. The shading alternates filled, outline, filled, outline, so filled is next.
